About Accupril (quinapril)

Accupril is considered an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor. Angiotensin II is a hormone that raises blood pressure, and ACE inhibitors block these hormones to lower blood pressure. Accupril stops angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) from constricting your blood vessels. Without the extra constricting of the blood vessels, the blood vessels can relax, resulting in lower blood pressure.

Like any ACE inhibitor, this prescription-only medication is used to treat high blood pressure. The medication is available in a generic formulation called quinapril.

Some conditions that Accupril is known to treat include hypertension and heart failure. This medication is often prescribed as Accupril tablets. It is crucial to adhere to the precise instructions provided on your prescription. These instructions may differ depending on the dosage and formulation prescribed to you.

It is essential to complete the entire course of the ACE inhibitor unless instructed otherwise by your doctor. Failure to do so may result in incomplete treatment of your high blood pressure.
