How long does Cleviprex last?
After Cleviprex infusion, your doctor will continue blood pressure monitoring to ensure your blood pressure approaches goal levels. If you don't take other antihypertensive therapies, your doctor will monitor your blood pressure for rebound hypertension for at least 8 hours after infusion.
Does Cleviprex affect heart rate?
Yes, Cleviprex may temporarily raise your heart rate. Systemic hypotension and reflex tachycardia are normal responses to vasodilation and the reduction of blood pressure.
Who should not take Cleviprex?

About Cleviprex (clevidipine)
Cleviprex, a calcium channel blocker, works by relaxing the muscles of your heart and blood vessels. Cleviprex is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) in people who cannot take oral antihypertensive therapy.
Cleviprex is available only by prescription. It may be available in a generic formulation as clevidipine as well as under different brand names.
Cleviprex is prescribed as an intravenous medication, administered by a healthcare provider.

Your doctor will monitor blood pressure and heart rate continually during infusion and until your vital signs are stable. Heart failure patients should be monitored carefully during prolonged Cleviprex infusions.
What to avoid while taking Cleviprex
Cleviprex has 233 drug interactions. Don’t change what you are taking without checking with your doctor or pharmacist. That includes other medications or supplements, as well as over-the-counter drugs.
Possible drug interactions with Cleviprex infusion include:
Beta-blocker medications, including atenolol, carvedilol, and metoprolol
